Mary, Mary, Quite Contrary

How does your garden grow?

Tomatoes
Eggplant
Corn
Cucumbers
And Babies!
We grow them big around here!  Hunter was 9lbs 15 ozs and Landry was 9lbs 6ozs.  Must be the country air.  Or the steroids, but probably the massive amounts of chocolate that I ate.
This one was too cute not to include.

Best Thing Ever

I love this thing.  You put ice in it for ice coffee or ice tea.  I do both.   I got a Keurig for Christmas last year and love it, so I was really excited when I saw they were doing iced coffee and iced tea.
Do you have a Keurig? Do you like it?

Dear Parking

After being cooped up all day, we decided to take a ride to the dear park.  We stopped and got BK on the way, nutritional no?
If your not familiar with a deer park, basically it's a park with dear, behind a fence, that you shouldn't feed, but people do, I do not, I follow rules.  Sometimes.

I think he was trying to lick the salt off our fingers from the fries.

Landry was less than impressed.
We also walked over to the new war memorial that's at the Veteran's Home.  It's beautiful.

Redbox Review

Like I said earlier, the husband and I don't get out much, or at all, at least not together!  So any time that we spend together is usually done at home, and we have the boys.  I was recently asked to review Redbox .  I had heard some good things about Redbox, but I was a little worried that there wouldn't be a good selection of movies.  Boy was I wrong!  They had all kinds of new releases along with some older movies.  I ended up renting Brothers .  The whole rental process was a piece of cake.  The longest part was trying to decide what movie I wanted to rent!  I really think that Redbox is a great deal.  A normal rental fee at video stores these days is about $5, yeah, you get to keep the movie for longer, but do you really watch it more than once?  You really can't beat a $1 rental!

I was provided with a Redbox rental to aid in this review.  My opinions are 100% my own.

When did my baby grow up??

On his way to Nana's house.

To be honest, I may have teared up a little bit.  He looks so grown up!  What am I going to do when it's the school bus he's walking to!  He insisted on walking himself, on the driveway because the grass was wet and he did not want to get his Teva's wet!

We have a problem . . .

We have a thumb sucker . . .

A day at the Lake!

Building castles
Hunter got to spend a whole day with Nana.  They went to the lake with Aunt Helen and his cousins.  The kid had a blast.  Mom said that she couldn't get him out of the water.  This is a complete turn around from last year when we had all we could do to get him in the water!

Fishing with Grampy

It's not very often that Mike and I are alone anymore, I think I can count on one hand how many times it's been since Landry was born.  But sometimes the stars align and it works out.  We recently had the opportunity to go shopping alone!  We left Landry with Auntie Erin and Hunter went to my parents house.  Hunter had a special treat, Grampy took him fishing!!

Carnival!!

Saturday night was spent at the Fireman’s Carnival.  We dropped Landry off with Aunt Erin, then the boy and I were off and running.  When I say off and running, I mean, he never stopped!  He was super excited, he played games, rode some rides and spent most (if not all!) of Aunt Helen’s money.  And when the fireworks started, he barely batted an eye, I was one proud Mama!

Our trip to Dartmouth

When Landry was about a week or so old, he started throwing up.  I mentioned it to the Dr, because it was only about once a day, and he was still gaining weight, we decided to wait it out to see if it got better.  It started to progressively get worse, he was throwing up about every other feeding, and it was always a lot more than he had just eaten.  I called the Dr to see about getting him on some meds for acid reflux.  Hunter had this when he was a baby, even though Landry’s symptoms were different, I really thought this is what the problem was.  Dr Samuelson thought that it was either pyloric stenosis or an allergy to the soy formula that he’s on.  First he wanted to rule out pyloric stenosis, so he sent us to SVMC to get an ultrasound.  I was very surprised when the radiologist told me that he did indeed have pyloric stenosis, in order to fix it he would need surgery.  Dr Samuelson called me a little while later and said that he had called The Childrens Hospital at Dartmouth (CHAD) and they were expecting us that evening, the surgery would be the next day.

Everyone at CHAD was great and really put us at ease.  It’s a scary thing when your child has to have surgery, especially when he’s only four weeks old.

It was so sad to see him with the IV stuck in his head.

I think the hardest part was not being able to give him anything to eat.  It was a full 24 hours before they allowed him to eat.  We were able to give him tiny amounts of sugar water on a pacifier.  The surgery itself was simple and only took about 20 minutes.  The incision is very small and shouldn’t leave a scar.

We are so thankful that he’s okay and on the mend.

Brothers

Can you tell which is Hunter and which is Landry?

The top picture is of Hunter when he was around 3 months old, the bottom is of Landry when he was 3 weeks old.   Both have those chubby cheeks!  It’s hard to tell in the pictures but Hunter’s hair was much darker than Landrys is.  Thankfully Landry didn’t inherit poor Hunter’s cowlick!!

A boy and his cat

Hunter loves our cat CC.  And for the most part, CC loves Hunter.  He lets him carry him around the house and boss him around.

Lately, CC has been going into Hunter’s room when he’s in there playing.  This is what I found the other day.  Hunter told me that he and CC were playing blocks.
