Carnival!!

Saturday night was spent at the Fireman’s Carnival.  We dropped Landry off with Aunt Erin, then the boy and I were off and running.  When I say off and running, I mean, he never stopped!  He was super excited, he played games, rode some rides and spent most (if not all!) of Aunt Helen’s money.  And when the fireworks started, he barely batted an eye, I was one proud Mama!

Brotherly Love

These two are going to be such great friends as they grow up.  Oh the trouble they will get into!  Forget college fund, we’re saving for bail money!

Our trip to Dartmouth

When Landry was about a week or so old, he started throwing up.  I mentioned it to the Dr, because it was only about once a day, and he was still gaining weight, we decided to wait it out to see if it got better.  It started to progressively get worse, he was throwing up about every other feeding, and it was always a lot more than he had just eaten.  I called the Dr to see about getting him on some meds for acid reflux.  Hunter had this when he was a baby, even though Landry’s symptoms were different, I really thought this is what the problem was.  Dr Samuelson thought that it was either pyloric stenosis or an allergy to the soy formula that he’s on.  First he wanted to rule out pyloric stenosis, so he sent us to SVMC to get an ultrasound.  I was very surprised when the radiologist told me that he did indeed have pyloric stenosis, in order to fix it he would need surgery.  Dr Samuelson called me a little while later and said that he had called The Childrens Hospital at Dartmouth (CHAD) and they were expecting us that evening, the surgery would be the next day.

Everyone at CHAD was great and really put us at ease.  It’s a scary thing when your child has to have surgery, especially when he’s only four weeks old.

It was so sad to see him with the IV stuck in his head.

I think the hardest part was not being able to give him anything to eat.  It was a full 24 hours before they allowed him to eat.  We were able to give him tiny amounts of sugar water on a pacifier.  The surgery itself was simple and only took about 20 minutes.  The incision is very small and shouldn’t leave a scar.

We are so thankful that he’s okay and on the mend.

Brothers

Can you tell which is Hunter and which is Landry?

The top picture is of Hunter when he was around 3 months old, the bottom is of Landry when he was 3 weeks old.   Both have those chubby cheeks!  It’s hard to tell in the pictures but Hunter’s hair was much darker than Landrys is.  Thankfully Landry didn’t inherit poor Hunter’s cowlick!!

A boy and his cat

Hunter loves our cat CC.  And for the most part, CC loves Hunter.  He lets him carry him around the house and boss him around.

Lately, CC has been going into Hunter’s room when he’s in there playing.  This is what I found the other day.  Hunter told me that he and CC were playing blocks.

Play time with Daddy

New Toy

I bought Landry a little play mat, hoping that it would give me a break from having to hold him constantly. . . so far, he’s not really interested, but Hunter sure loves it!

Welcome to the World!

Landry Wyatt King was born on May 17th, weighing in at a whopping 9lbs 6ozs and was 19 3/4 inches long.

I can’t believe how quickly this pregnancy went by.  It seems like we just found out that I was pregnant!

We are slowly adjusting to life as a family of four.  We’ve had some long nights and some rough days.  It’s still hard for me to believe that I am a Mom to two boys!

Hunter has adjusted so well with Landry.  He is already saying that he’s his best friend.

I don’t even want to think about the trouble that these boys are going to get into together!

Also born the same day was our friends Jaime and Al’s baby boy Sawyer Benjamin.  I was getting ready to head to the hospital for my c-section, (which was also Jaime’s due date) when the phone rang, imagine my surprise and excitement, when Jaime told me that she had just given birth to Sawyer!!  Mike and I headed down to the hospital early so we could meet the little guy.

Landry and Sawyer

Both boys looks just like their older brothers.

I still can’t believe that I got to go through my pregnancy with one of my best friends and we had babies the same day!

My Little Man

Hunter 012 Hunter 010

It’s a

BOY!  We found out on New Years Eve that we’re having another boy!  I am completely outnumbered now!  Even our cat is a boy and the goldfish’s name is Bob.  While there will be no pink in our future, we’re really excited to add another member to our family in just over 3 months.  Mike and I are both amazed how quickly this pregnancy is going!

Pink eye and an ear infection

012

Well, we thought we were in the clear for sickness this year.  Wrong, Hunter came down with pink eye and an ear infection at the same time.  I was lucky enough to get a nasty cold, that as of now has lasted over 2 weeks.  Unfortunately, because I’m pregnant I was pretty limited in what I could take.  Fortunately, neither of my boys got it and I’m feeling much better.  Luckily, my being sick, was at the same time that my Mom was home for a visit.  Mom was able to keep Hunter at her house so that I could get some rest.  Thanks Mom!

The Dinosaur is eating my goldfish . . .

Hunter loves playing with the Dinosaur that Uncle Andrew gave him.  Here he is telling me that he is sharing his goldfish with the dinosaur

See Mom!

Mom’s not impressed!

004

Hunter’s not impressed when I inform him that he will need to pick up the goldfish.

Unfortunately, I was really bad about taking photos!  The food was good, and there was an incident with a frog . . .
